Airframe Types

We don't fly the Huey exclusively.

	D Company specializes in UH-1H Gunship Operations, but the Aerial Artillery principles learnt also apply to the Mi-8 and Ka-50 platforms as well. D/229 eagerly awaits the release of the Mi-24 Hind and AH-1 Cobra gunships.
	Scout/Recce Troop was created for Gazelle enthusiasts. H/229 are eagerly awaiting additonal airframes such as the B-105 and OH-58D Kiowa Warrior to compliment this troop
	Currently inactive, the Medical Detachment specialises in MEDEVAC and CSAR operations, training & qualification syllabus is undergoing formalisation. To make CSAR viable we also require competant 'Sandy' drivers (A-10C) as well as supporting escorts by D/229 gunships or Attack Helicopters. When the CH-53 is released, this will be the home of the 'Jolly Green Giant'.
	There is also a contingent of very proficient Mi8 drivers (8mates), who focus on Mi-8 specific training & missions.

Additionally & although not yet the basis of a dedicated squad, there are some competent Ka50 jockeys are about.

We are of course all eagerly awaiting the development and release of the Mi-24, AH-1, B-105 & hopefully many more (OH-58D, CH-53, CH47, UH-60, AH-64D, MD500) .

Occasionally some members will venture to 'the dark side' and steer a 'plank' (anything Fixed Wing) about the skies in either:

A few prefer some old-school 'stick and rudder' (predominantly WW2) aircraft.
